Project made by a friend and I. He has a case of the ugly layout disease. The site's unique function is a click exchange which displays links to other user's creatures and allows you to gain credits in order for yours to be shown as well. It also hosts a small, but growing, information collection about the pets. The credit system works similar to any link exchange. If you have at least 1 credit, your pet will be able to randomly appear, and if you get a click, your credit count decreases by one. Unlike a regular link exchange, the only things that can be added are unicreatures, which helps to ensure that people actually level up your pet, since only people familiar with the site will be clicking on it, unlike other click exchange sites that might host links to 100s of sites, use an automatic script to browse links, or have a largely non English-speaking population who may not understand how to exp-up your pet. The layout is being worked on and the site is currently in beta. Many pages of pet information are missing, but they are being worked on day-by-day, so simply sort of ignore that half of the site for now. Click Exchange Features: -Clicks can be gained for one pet at a time. -Simply enter another pet's ID to gain clicks for that pet instead, the clicks you already gained for your other pet will stay on there. -Every hour (or manually at an admin's discretion), pets with 0 credits will be cleared from the database. Users can also delete their own 0-credit pets. -Set a key and you can reduce any of your pets to 0 credits at any time, and then they will get cleaned out at the hour. -20 random positive credit pets are displayed at once. -Fully evolved pets are removed either manually by an admin, or automatically once their credits hit 0 and an hourly clean comes along. We do not query unicreatures' server to see if pets are fully evolved or frozen. -No account is required. Simply enter an ID and start earning clicks. -Clicked pets' pages open in an iframe underneath the 20 random pets, so you don't have to switch windows or tabs if you don't want to. -The iframe can be disabled or resized at any time. -No full wipes. If your pet has credits, and is not yet fully evolved (in which case it may have been manually removed) it will be displayed. No need to worry about them expiring after a day/week/month if your pet still needs clicks. -My Pets records any pets attached to your IP address that are currently in the system and lets you easily switch back to another pet or clear the pet off if it has 0 credits. -New human awareness tests are in place to catch people who don't click through. If Acid has any requests for information regarding the site (note that the site itself doesn't level up the pets or access it in any sort), feel free to PM me or post here. My partner takes care of most of the coding bit and doesn't have a Unifaction board account and even if he did, isn't reliable enough to check the boards, so I'll pass on any messages. Also a question (to any site staff): Would you like us to mirror the images for the pet pages instead of hotlinking? Because it wouldn't be too much trouble and if you'd prefer it, we will. Signature buttons by Mivichi! These are hosted by the site, feel free to upload them to your own host, or just hotlink. ![]() ![]() Update [4/17] Based on layout suggestions, we have added the ability to change the size of the iframe or disable it altogether. This way if it stretches your page (or just doesn't work right in your browser) you can just set width to 0 (making it disappear) and use tabs instead, or make it smaller. In response to the concern about "mostly fully evolved or ready to evolve or removed pets showing up": The best way to get rid of these is to click them. I'm not sure if you already knew this, but clicking such a pet still gives you a credit even though the pet is unable to be leveled up. Leaving those pets in there until they run out of credits gives you a little bit of a buffer to be able to add more of your pets without running out of pets to click, since right now, until more people have added their pets, that is an issue. There are not quite enough pets to click to add all of the average person's unicreatures, so we're being really lax on removing full evo'd pets and frozen eggs and herded pets. Clicking that link will still give you a credit and also bring that pet closer to 0 credits and getting deleted, so please do click them! Update #2 [4/17] Changes: -The admin panel has changed to make it easier to remove fully evolved or herded pets and it should be getting done more readily now. -A feature is being worked on that will store your last five pets entered so you can go back to them without having to look up the ID again, this will be added if or when it works right and is completed. -If you add your own pet, it should now not show up to you at all when clicking, unless more than 20 hours goes by since you've added it. Clarifications: -Clicking a pet that can not actually receive a click, such as a herded pet or a fully evolved pet will still give you a credit. Don't skip them, or they will just keep showing up. -You may enter the same pet again to gain more credits if you decide later that you need more. Re-entering it will not reset its credits, it will still keep the ones you already gave it. |

This sounds like a great idea to me, you're far more likely to get the two clicks necessary if it's only other UniCreatures players clicking ^.^

Sounds like a great idea, I'm trying it out now!
Edit: Tried it and I have a couple of suggestions. 1. I'd set things up so that you can create an account if you desire and get credits for that account as a whole rather than per pet (like Yarolds). That way you can just keep clicking, whereas now I need to switch the pet I'm clicking for whenever it has enough credits. 2. I'd change the lay-out. I have to scroll down to have the feed/play/options in the clickbox. That means the bottom row, which you can still see after scrolling down to see the feed/play/brush buttons, has a higher chance of getting clicks than the top row. I also have a question: Is the site set up to count when you click on a pet, or when you click the followthrough action (feed/play/brush)? |

The reason there is no login is this:
Makes site more accessible in less time. No need to register, wait for an email, log in. No need for our server to store your username, your password, your details, no reason to gather information from you. It is just sort of a lot of effort for something that doesn't really have a benefit. However, in response to your layout inquiry, we are moving the pets and click exchange to be on a separate page from the two boxes where you can enter and search. On my browser, this makes it so no scrolling is necessary to see the feed/play/brush image and the top row of pets at the same time. Hope this helps. In response to your last question: It counts the click. If it only counted the action, you would get no credit for clicking a ready to evolve or fully evolved or a recently frozen/herded pet, and that is not your fault that the pet is like that, it's the owner's fault. It would not be fair to you (or any other clicker) to waste the effort to click several pets like this as they would not give you any clicks. We will not query the server to see if the pet was clickable and then award you the credit anyways, because that would put undue strain on uni's server for something that shouldn't be necessary. This is a friendly community and if someone is taking the time to click all of the links, they may as well take the time to click the feed link. Edit to add: We also want to ENCOURAGE you to click such pets, since once their credits hit 0, they can be removed from the database. Besides us manually cleaning it out, this is the best way for it to clean itself. This makes the site able to run for days or weeks without us performing maintenance, which may become a reality if work or other irl stuff gets in the way. If you got no credits for them, people would avoid clicking them, and they would linger in everyone's way for a long time. However, do be warned that we do keep logs for each IP of who clicked what. You are identifiable despite not having a login by this, and if one person is found to be abusing the system (not just accidentally clicking away from one, but I mean MAJOR abuse, like botting the site and not clicking any of the feed links and amassing large amounts of credits) they can be completely IP banned from accessing the site. But for the meantime it is based on trust, and we around here are all more trustworthy than Hydra's autoclick script, and more reliable than yarolds. Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback. |

Thanks for taking the time to answer!
I'd still prefer an account option, but I can see your reasons not to have one. Would it be possible to enter more than 1 pet at a time, since most people are raising several pets at once? Say 5, since that's the egg max (not counting special eggs)? |

You mean earn clicks for more than one at the exact same time?
I'm not sure how that would work unless the credits were somehow split between them all. If the credits were applied to all of them (you click one pet and 5 pets get a credit) that would hardly seem fair, and I'm not sure how dividing them is less work than just put ten credits on this one, enter another ID.. Or did you mean have the site keep track of the ones that you've already put in and let you pick from those? I'm not sure if that would be easy to do or not, Charisma does the coding work so I'd have to ask him about how feasible that would be without having a login. Er, we did make it a little easier to enter IDs because now the box will take the full link of the pet's page, too, so you can just copy the whole address bar and paste it in there. Also, right now the way it works is that if you switch to another pet, the pet you already clicked with will still be appearing in the click exchange and getting clicks even while you click another one. Elaborate a little. :3 |
